Where I was; Where I am

Not a year and a half ago I was well on my way to having it all. Soon I look forward to having neurologist tell me what has been wrong with me since then. During this time of battling with my body and my soul and my spirit and my life, I have been inactive. Everything I thought was sooo important has suddenly become unimportant and now I live for the day to day activities like making it to the table for dinner and helping my son with his homework. This blog is no longer about a budding author weaving through the politics and minefields of publishing. This blog now is about a person struggling to survive one day after another.

Moving the Covenstead, Saying Goodbye, Voting and Samhein

So my lovely core Family Coven is in the process of moving the Covenstead. I have already done some serious packing and we sign papers today. Then we take the boy to trick or treat with his friends. He has a scary costume and seems genuinely into trick or treating this year. I hate and love moving. The packing, the washing, the organizing, ahh it is like sweet candy to me. The aching arms, aching legs and aching backs are like aching to me. LOL

This move is especially sad as we are giving up our familiars in lue of our son's health who has been diagnosed with allergy to cats. Evidently are beloveds are giving my son asthma. They are being put into the Familiar Protection Program where witch's cats are given new identities and sent to good homes to live out their magical days with a family who has promised to protect them from magical harm or use against the magical family they have come from. All I can say is that one of our cats will become a mouser for a family over run by unruly chipmunks and the other will find her days filled with quiet meditation.

It is truly sad. I slept with one of them last night and yesterday Tony was all man when he hugged and petted one of our girls and declared how badly he was going to miss her. It is a daily depressing reality that my Family Coven is currently living with.

On a completely different subject – go vote. Please vote for the man whose service has been to those in Detroit who needed help and for the man who has the opportunity to completely change the way that the United States is viewed by both our allies and enemies abroad. These days call for peace. Let us seek it.

Samhein day is here and I have no jack-o-lanterns carved, I feel like such a busy witch. I am going to try to get them done before I go to sign the papers on the new place. Tonight it is a quiet celebration. We can't wait.
